Two personal, ongoing poster series built around football: one for every match of the 2026 World Cup, and one for every Coventry matchday.
Personal seriesFIFA World Cup 2026
Through the 2026 World Cup I made a poster for each match as it was played, drawn by hand in oil pastel. Every one turns the flags of the two teams into a single composition, so no two are alike.

A new poster for every Coventry City match in their 2026/27 Premier League season, made for matchday and posted here as the season goes on.

Oil pastel on paper
Personal work made by hand: sports moments, animals, people, places and still life, built up in thick layers of oil pastel. It's also the medium participants used in the Play Inquiry Session in Lagos. New pieces are added regularly.

About
I’m Oselu Irabor, a visual artist, illustrator, designer, and art educator. My work spans illustration, visual storytelling, and design, driven by a curiosity about how images communicate ideas and how creativity shapes the way we see the world.
Alongside my creative practice, I design playful, hands-on learning experiences that help people explore their creativity through drawing, experimentation, and collaboration. I’m interested in making art more accessible, helping people build creative confidence, and creating spaces where curiosity matters more than getting things right.
Whether I’m making images or bringing people together to make things, my work is rooted in the same belief: creativity is something we can all explore, practise, and grow into.

Play Inquiry creates playful, hands-on experiences through drawing prompts, open-ended challenges and creative experiments. Each session brings people together to try things, explore ideas and make something of their own.
No art experience required. Just a willingness to try.

The idea
Most of us learn to think of creativity as a talent. Something some people have, and others don't.
Play Inquiry approaches it differently.
Guided prompts, simple materials and playful experiments give people a starting point, then leave room for them to discover where it goes.
There is no single correct result. The point is to try, explore and see what happens.

About Oselu
I'm a visual artist, illustrator and designer interested in how we see, make and communicate ideas.
Play Inquiry grows out of my wider creative practice and my interest in making creative participation feel accessible. Through guided drawing, prompts and hands-on experiments, I'm exploring what happens when people are given room to try things without the pressure to get everything right.
The workshops are an extension of that curiosity: a way to make, learn and discover alongside other people.
See Oselu's portfolio of illustration, design and visual artA Play Inquiry Session for individuals, held in collaboration with Ayanfe Haven. Twelve participants came into drawing through simple exercises, guided prompts and a progression from pencil sketches to oil-pastel paintings.
Introduce a group of twelve people to drawing and help each of them develop their own work, starting with simple exercises rather than an intimidating blank page.
The purpose was to create an approachable, hands-on experience for people with different levels of familiarity with drawing.
How do you help people begin making something when uncertainty or the fear of getting it wrong might otherwise stop them?
The response was to build a sequence of approachable activities, giving participants a starting point before asking them to develop their own work.
Instead of starting with a blank page and a big subject, the session moved in stages, each one building on the last.
Simple, low-pressure exercises to loosen the hand and get past the fear of the first mark.
Building from those exercises towards looking closely and drawing a real subject.
Each participant developed an individual drawing.
Colour was added through layering and blending to finish the piece.
Participants left with their own drawings and oil-pastel paintings. The subjects were simple still lifes: bottles, cups, fruit and flowers.
The Lagos session was a starting point for a broader workshop practice. I'm developing the format into repeatable creative experiences for individuals, communities and teams, using drawing and hands-on experimentation to make room for curiosity and discovery.
The aim is to keep testing the approach, refining the facilitation and exploring collaborations with people and organisations interested in creative participation.

Collaborate
Play Inquiry can take different forms depending on the people in the room, the setting and the questions worth exploring.
Artists, venues, brands and creative communities can co-host a Play Inquiry Session for their audience. Companies and organisations can commission Play Inquiry at Work for their teams. Both give people a starting point, space to experiment and an opportunity to make something together.
The format is adapted to the audience and context. Let's explore what we could make.
Play Inquiry Sessions
01An artist, venue, brand or other creative collaborator co-hosts a Play Inquiry Session for their audience. Play Inquiry develops and facilitates the session.
The core experience remains the same, while the host, audience and setting can change. Commercial and operational arrangements are agreed in advance.
Play Inquiry at Work
02A company or organisation commissions a workshop for its team, offsite or gathering.
Each session is adapted to the team's context, objectives, group size and available time. Prior drawing experience is not required.
In the room
Every workshop is built around guided prompts, playful experimentation and hands-on making, so everyone has a way in, whatever their experience. What it offers is the experience itself: time to try, make and talk about it together.
